Literature has a super big place in our hearts. Whether we're perusing through lighthearted picture books or diving deep into a mystery novel. Here are five of our must reads for anyone looking to pick up a new favorite book!
"The Alienist" - Caleb Carr
Set at the end of the 19th century in New York City, This edge of your seat thriller follows Dr. Lazlo Kreizler, A Psychiatrist on the hunt to solve a series of vicious Murders plaguing the city. The Author's use of imagery in this novel will literally transport you directly into 1896 giving you visuals of New York City in its most ominous age. This storyline is definitely one that will have you hooked from start to finish!
"Girl In A Band" - Kim Gordon
This Memoir follows ultimate cool girl Kim Gordon on her early years and childhood up to the start and end of Sonic Youth as well as an inside look on her marriage and divorce with bandmate Thurston Moore. This book is a must read for a sonic youth fan and anyone who wants an inside look on New York City's infamous music and art scene in the 80's and 90's.
"Night" - Elie Wiesel
Night is an autobiographical novel about the authors experience with his father in the Nazi German Concentration Camps at Auschwitz and Buchenwald in 1944-1945 During the height of the holocaust toward the end of WWII.

"Adrift" - Steven Callahan
Steven Callahan is a notable Author, Naval Architect, Inventor, and Sailor notorious for having survived for 76 days adrift on the Atlantic Ocean in a life raft ( Yes NOT KIDDING). In his Best Selling Memoir, "Adrift" Provides an inside look on his terrifying experience being stranded at sea.
