As fall breezes in, the chilly and melancholy music we have come to love becomes more and more appropriate. Autumn is a time of reflection, slowing down, and drawing into yourself. I find autumn to be a period in time that makes me evaluate myself, my art, my goals, and brainstorm what I want the next year to be. It's a time to cherish small moments, gather with friends, and enjoy the calm.
There is truly no better feeling than walking through falling leaves, hot drink in hand, wistful indie-rock music playing, and a soft sweater. Cloak and Dagger has a huge new stock of sweaters and denim that we have styled into looks to match your favorite fall songs. In addition, Cloak and Dagger's September playlist picks can be found here on September Gurls to get you in the fall mood!
Duvet by Boa is a tell-tale sign that fall has come. The lilting vocals, vibrant guitar, and heartbroken lyrics always match the crisp chill in the air. The new Brenton Sweater and the Rollas Studio Flare Jeans match the cool-girl vibe of the song as well as coinciding with the album cover's red and blue color-scheme.
Golden Brown by the Stranglers has been on repeat ever since the temperature went below 65. The harpsichord gives a pleasantly eerie affect, like a single shiver, but the overall song evokes the image of an ethereal beauty. She's touched by the sun and yet the wind still chills her. Golden brown might wear the American Vintage Zolly Sweater with the Askk Brighton Wide Leg Jeans.
Time of the Season by Zombies is dark, spooky, moody. The dissonant harmonies that eventually resolve on "the season of loving" seem witchy and flirty. It pairs well with the Ivy V-Neck Sweater and the Levi's Baggy Dad Jeans or the American Vintage Vitow Cardigan.
