August marks the beginning of holiday season in Europe! Typically most Europeans favor late July and early August for their designated time-off, in contrast to the popular American vacation months of May and June. Late summer is a time for rejuvenation before the busy work-year resumes, and we have the perfect looks to pack for your European holiday, or evoke that feeling if you're staycationing!

Last year I was able to explore Europe for the first time and I fell in love with the relaxing atmosphere and work/life balance that encouraged me to get out and see as much as I could. One of my fondest memories was waking up in Rome, wandering down from my lodgings, and popping into a cafe for some fresh orange juice, food, and espresso, before setting out to see Palatine Hill. Dressing up to match the atmosphere of your vacation spot of choice is one of the great pleasures of going on holiday; thankfully Cloak and Dagger has a number of gorgeous summer looks to pair with your location of choice!

Cloak and Dagger is very inspired by Parisian fashion, with many of the Cloak and Dagger brand pieces being named after French icons. Paris has been a center of fashion for centuries, with many haute couture brands being founded there. The coast of the Mediterranean Sea is an often sought spot for relaxation. Whether it's France, Spain, Greece, Italy, Turkey, or many more, you are guaranteed gorgeous weather, delicious food, and sparkling blue water. We recommend pieces with flow and light colors to compliment the seaside views. The Cloak and Dagger Diana blouse comes in Peche, Swiss Dot Noir, White Swiss Dot, and La Strie. Our next stop is Italy, specifically Rome, which earns its title of "The Eternal City", due to its rich history. The founding of Rome is enshrouded in myth, beginning with the birth of twins Romulus and Remus, sons of the god Mars and Rhea Silvia, princess of ancient Alba Longa. The twins founded what would eventually become Rome and Romulus eventually seized power from his brother and became the first king. Among the seven kings of Rome, the last three are concretely real figures, making the leap from myth to reality. From there on, Rome progressed into a Republic and then Empire. It is a magical city because all stages of its rich history are on display and while visiting, it's almost like you can feel its ancient soul in the cobblestone streets.
